The abortion cartel’s propaganda in support of late-term abortions:
In fact, about 30 MILLION women are DEAD today because of Roe v. Wade. And 6 in 10 Americans agree that we should BAN abortions after 20 weeks.
This week the Senate, in a 51-46 vote dividing along almost perfect party lines, killed the Pain-Capable Child Protection Act.
This is a heartbreaking defeat for the preborn and those of us fighting for their lives. The bill, which President Trump had promised to sign, would have prohibited abortions on babies who are 20 weeks gestation or older.
The Pain-Capable Child Protection Act would have affected about one percent of all abortions in this country—meaning it could have saved 10,000 lives this year alone. Only 7 countries—Canada, China, Netherlands, North Korea, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam—currently permit abortions after twenty weeks.
The underling rationale of the Act was undeniable, supported conclusively by science. Twenty-week-old babies in the womb feel pain just like you and me.
How do you explain the abortion lobby’s obsession with infanticide?
Despite 40 years of unremitting propaganda, polling data in our democracy still shows a common and persevering humane awareness that something is wrong with aborting babies who can feel pain. A recent Marist poll shows that two-thirds of Americans oppose abortion after the 20th week. The Pew Research Center last year corroborated this. After filtering out bias, 75 percent of Americans still believe there should be some limit on abortion.
This brings us face to face with an inscrutable truth about the darkened hearts that argue for the indefensible proposition that the lives of preborn babies do not matter. There is something deeper going on here. What could possibly embolden the Senate in its manifestly appalling belief that it is acceptable to kill sentient human life in the womb? After all, our republic operates on the consent of an electorate that opposes the unbending position of those 46 politicians.
There is a deeper and more sinister underpinning at work here. Evil is rooted in motivations deeper than the desire to find a “way out” of an inconvenient pregnancy. The deaths of these unborn babies provide the life’s blood of the abortion industry. Since the release of the Daleiden videos we all know that Planned Parenthood sells baby body parts. The transactional and commodity value of those parts is directly and proportionally related to the age of the baby. Put plainly, the sale of late-term babies for their parts is big business for the abortion cartel—the same cartel that spends millions of dollars supporting the campaigns of those who killed the Act and with it the 10,000 babies whose lives depended on its passage.
Life Legal is defending David Daleiden in two civil lawsuits filed by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation (NAF). We recently filed a petition for review in the NAF case with the U.S. Supreme Court. Life Legal maintains that the lawsuits were filed solely to suppress Daleiden’s First Amendment speech rights, including the right to release additional video evidence showing Planned Parenthood and other abortionists’ willingness to engage in the criminal sale of baby body parts.
