We received a call yesterday from a pro-lifer who was just charged with a felony offense for telling an abortionist to stop killing babies. There was no violence, no threats to the abortionist’s life – just an earnest plea that she stop dismembering helpless human beings. The court has already issued an arrest warrant for the pro-lifer. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. Life Legal is currently representing a number of pro-lifers who are facing similar state and federal felony charges for peaceful pro-life activism.

Meanwhile hundreds of people are protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court justices, with some issuing threats in an attempt to force the Court to amend the leaked draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. Federal Marshalls had to be deployed to the justices’ homes to protect them in light of “increased security concerns” and yesterday the Senate had to authorize 24/7 police protection for the justices’ families because of threats against them.
Pro-aborts are openly celebrating the bombing of a pro-life organization’s Wisconsin office, saying pro-lifers should feel safe until they are dead. Rewire reporter Caroline Reilly called for “more of this” – i.e., more violence against pro-lifers.

A group called “Jane’s Revenge” has taken credit for the bombing and is threatening to “adopt increasingly extreme tactics to maintain freedom over our own bodies,” saying “next time the infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive.” The group is demanding “the disbanding of all anti-choice establishments, fake clinics, and violent anti-choice groups within the next thirty days.”

To my knowledge, not a single person has been arrested in connection with any of these incidents.
Please pray for pregnancy center staff, sidewalk counselors, and pro-life organizations in the face of escalating threats and attacks. We encourage you to take all threats seriously and report them to the authorities.
Life Legal stands ready to act on behalf of anyone who is threatened, harassed, or arrested because of their pro-life views and activities.
