Pepperdine: Encouraging the Next Generation of Pro-Life Leaders

Dana Cody, Executive Director of Life Legal Defense Foundation, spoke to students at Pepperdine University on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Her convocation address was based on the text, “And the peace of Christ which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

“Even in the midst of the adversity created by abortion, we can have peace in Christ,” said Cody. “Peace isn’t discovered through the absence of conflict, but is found by faith in relationship with Christ.” Building on this theme, Cody encouraged students not to fear the conflicts of the day, but to rely on the peace which passes understanding.

LLDF extends its thanks to Pepperdine University for the opportunity to participate in this convocation, as well as to the students who attended, and those who helped organize the event, particularly Cassie Thomas and Sarah Ketelhut.

In comments regarding her participation in the convocation, Cody remarked, “Encouraging the next generation of pro-life advocates and leaders is essential to LLDF’s mission of protecting the innocent and defenseless. We look to engage students at every opportunity, and thank Pepperdine for making this event possible.” Cody will be participating in the Law Students for Life National Law Tour later this month.
