Dana Cody, President & Executive Director

Dana Cody, Executive Director of LLDF, has been championing the rights of women and the preborn for over twenty years. She started as a lay-counselor to women in crisis pregnancies, then fulfilled her passion to protect women and children victimized by abortion by obtaining her Juris Doctor from Western State University in 1993.  In 1996, Ms. Cody accepted the invitation to serve as a board member of Life Legal Defense Foundation. After leaving a consulting position she accepted the position as Life Legal’s Executive Director.  Both Mrs. Cody and Allison Aranda have been a vital driving force behind the Birmingham pro-life community’s work to shut down New Woman All Women abortion facility.

Allison-K-ArandaAllison Aranda, Senior Staff Counsel of LLDF, defends the free speech rights of pro-life activists in both state and federal court. Ms. Aranda graduated from Biola University in 1997 with a B.A. in Social Science and a minor in Sociology. She went on to earn a Law degree from Pepperdine University in 2001. In 2008, Ms. Aranda accepted the Life Legal Defense Foundation’s invitation to join their staff where she now dedicates her time to defending the liberties of pro-life advocates.  Recently, Ms. Aranda was co-counsel in Turn the Hearts v. City of Birmingham, which was filed after nine pro-life advocates were arrested while standing on the public sidewalk in Birmingham. All criminal charges against the pro-life activists were dropped, the Birmingham permit ordinance dating back to the civil rights era of the 1960’s was struck down, and the city paid an undisclosed amount of money to the pro-lifers who were wrongfully arrested.
