Thank you for standing with us during an exceptionally challenging year. In addition to our growing caseload involving threats to children in the womb and attacks on pro-life speech, we are seeing many COVID-related cases that implicate the right to life, including:
- Patients who are denied not only visitation but essential patient advocacy because of hospital visitation bans—even in cases where the patients do not have COVID. We have successfully fought for visitation rights, especially in cases where patients are injured or disabled and unable to communicate.
- Pharmacists who are told they must provide abortifacients and chemical abortion drugs because abortion is an “essential service” under their state’s COVID edicts. We have taken legal action and secured religious accomodations for pro-life pharmacists.
- Health care employees who are concerned that they will be forced to take a vaccine that violates their pro-life convictions. We are working with legal experts in employment law so that employees do not have to choose between keeping their jobs and violating their deeply held beliefs.
- Pro-life advocates outside abortion clinics who have been cited and even arrested for allegedly violating draconian COVID guidelines. We continue to work with city officials and law enforcement to ensure that First Amendment speech and assembly rights remain protected during COVID.
None of this would be possible without your faithful giving. Whatever challenges we may face in 2021, our mission will not change. We are committed to fighting for vulnerable human beings, especially preborn babies, in the courtroom and the public square—no matter what.
Life Legal wishes you a blessed 2021!
