Israel Stinson is currently on life support at a Sacramento area hospital. The hospital made a declaration of brain death on April 14, 2016 and wanted to withdraw life support immediately, saying that Israel’s condition would deteriorate in a matter of days. But Israel is still alive. On April 28, he began moving in response to his parent’s voice and touch:
The following video, taken on May 3, shows Israel moving in response to his mother’s voice alone. Responding to someone’s voice is a function of the brain stem and is inconsistent with a diagnosis of brain death.
