As we head into the new year, Life Legal remains at the forefront of the fight to end abortion and to protect the sanctity of human life. Currently, we are litiigating some of the most important pro-life cases in the nation.
We continue our vigorous defense of David Daleiden, who was sued by the National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood after he exposed Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in baby body parts.
David’s videos have led to numerous state and federal investigations of Planned Parenthood and its allies. They also served as the catalyst for a lawsuit against two of the nation’s largest baby parts brokers. Recently, DV Biologics and Da Vinci Biosciences agreed to permanently ceases operations and pay a $7.8 million settlement—a huge WIN for life!
In Ahn v. Hestrin, we are seeking to overturn California’s assisted suicide law. We recently secured a significant victory when Judge Daniel Ottolia denied the Attorney General’s motion to dismiss the case. This means we are headed to trial in the fall of 2018!
In addition, we regularly receive calls from 40 Days for Life teams from across the country who are facing harassment and threats from abortionists. We also recently hired a paralegal to assist with the large number of denial of life-sustaining care calls that come in on a weekly basis. And we are partnering with pro-life organizations in Canada to raise awareness about the dangers of assisted suicide and euthanasia laws worldwide.
