
David A. Shaneyfelt, Esq., has nearly thirty years’ experience in litigating complex civil matters in state and Federal courts across the country. He practices with the Alvarez Firm in Calabasas, California, where he concentrates on representing insurance policyholders in disputes against insurance companies. He is a former shareholder with the New York-based law firm of Anderson Kill, which is among the premier firms representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes.
From 1997-2005, he served as Director of Development and Associate General Counsel to his alma mater, Thomas Aquinas College, from which he graduated in 1981. He is a 1984 graduate of Willamette College of Law, where he was a senior editor of the law review. He served in the latter days of the Reagan Administration and as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. From 1990 to 1997, he worked in Chicago where he was engaged in complex civil litigation.
Over the past thirty years, he has been involved in wide-range of prolife activity and legal counseling, from writing numerous columns in the national Catholic press to litigating such cases as Rodriguez v. City of Chicago (7th Cir. 1998), in which he represented a Chicago police officer who sued for the right not to be posted at abortion clinic detail. He and his wife have seven children.
