When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence 243 years ago, he penned an exquisite, universal statement of human equality. The notion that all human beings are CREATED equal is unique to the American experiment. It sets us apart from every other nation on the planet. Others say that people are born equal or can be made equal by the all-powerful hand of the state. But the American faith statement that is the Declaration of Independence states that we ARE equal from the moment of our conception.
This fundamental principle is so often lost in the contentious political climate in which we find ourselves—and the consequences are catastrophic. If all human beings are not created equal, we—especially the most vulnerable among us—are subject to the capricious whim of transient popular culture. One group of people takes it upon itself to determine the relative worth of another group of people. In the case of the “unwanted” unborn, the outcome is the savage extermination of 60 million human lives.
For thirty years, Life Legal has been upholding the truth that all people are created equal and that we are endowed by God with certain unalienable rights—the first of which is the right to LIFE.
Stand with us today as we work toward a future where that right is protected and every child in the womb is safe from the abortionist’s scalpel.
Happy Independence Day!
