ONE: Today, Judge Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards tweeted that Gorsuch’s confirmation is “the worst” because Gorsuch has written that “the intentional taking of human life by private persons is ALWAYS wrong.”
TWO: Congress passed H.J.Res. 43 to repeal the HHS rule prohibiting states from defunding Planned Parenthood programs. This means states can now elect to give Title X grants to organizations that do not kill babies. Our hope is that the Senate vote on H.J.Res. 43 will bode well for the passage of legislation to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding.
THREE: The Trump administration blocked funding to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) because of the organization’s history of supporting China’s one (now two) child policy, which has resulted in the forced abortions of millions of Chinese babies. Federal law prohibits the use of taxpayer funds for organizations that support or participate in the management of a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.
As Life Legal celebrates these VICTORIES for life, we are working on the criminal and civil defense for David Daleiden, whose videos exposed Planned Parenthood’s criminal activities and served as the catalyst for congressional and executive action to defund the nation’s largest abortion provider. Last week, David was charged with 15 FELONY counts under California’s eavesdropping statute—and he continues to fight Planned Parenthood in civil court.
