Paul Ehrlich calls babies TRASH, welcomed at Vatican…

Paul Ehrlich, an outspoken proponent of compulsory abortion and sterilization, spoke at the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences Workshop on Biological Extinction earlier this month. His presence at the conference was hotly contested by pro-lifers—and rightly so.

Back in 1968, Ehrlich, a Stanford University professor of Biology, published a bestselling book called The Population Bomb. His thesis was shocking and dovetailed neatly into the prevailing moral climate of the time. Extrapolating from worldwide population growth as it existed historically—and the behavior of insects—the world would soon be faced with mass starvation.

cecile-richards-thanks-bcPlanned Parenthood took Ehrlich’s alarming thesis and ran with it. In 1969, Planned Parenthood–World Population VP Frederick Jaffe issued a memo proposing measures to reduce U.S. fertility, including the use of fertility control agents in drinking water and payments to encourage abortion. PP got what it wanted in the form of an as-yet indissoluble partnership with the federal government to provide “family planning” services. Soon after, the “right” to indiscriminately kill unborn children was cemented in Roe v. Wade.

As recently as 2009, Planned Parenthood stated its mission as providing leadership in achieving “a U.S. population of stable size in an optimum environment.” This is, not coincidentally, the same mission as Population Connection, the non-profit organization founded by Ehrlich (formerly Zero Population Growth).

For Planned Parenthood, as for Paul Ehrlich, fewer people means a better world.

Never mind that Ehrlich’s premise was wildly inaccurate. It turns out that human beings made in the image and likeness of God do not behave like insects. Or like “weeds,” as Margaret Sanger called them. Virtually every prediction Ehrlich made in his book has been proven wrong.

“The idea that every woman should have as many babies as she wants is to me exactly the same kind of idea as [that] everybody ought to be permitted to throw as much of their garbage into their neighbor’s back yard as they want.” Paul Ehrlich (NY Times Retro Report, 2014)

Ehrlich compares human beings to trash. Planned Parenthood, in dismembering and then selling the bodies of innocent victims of abortion, treats human beings like commodities to be used and then discarded. Like trash.

This week, Life Legal is in court for a scheduling conference in the case of Planned Parenthood v. the Center for Medical Progress. Planned Parenthood is seeking millions of dollars in damages from David Daleiden for showing how the nation’s largest abortion provider negotiates the sale of its human product.

We stand with David Daleiden to expose the root and fruit of Planned Parenthood!
