Last week, I had the privilege of spending an afternoon with the family of two-year old Mirranda Lawson, who is on a ventilator at a Virginia hospital after inhaling a popcorn kernel in May. The family has been working with a Life Legal attorney in an attempt to have the hospital facilitate Mirranda’s transfer to a long term care facility or release the toddler to home care. I watched as Mirranda’s blood pressure went up from 91/51 to 110/80 in a matter of seconds while she listened to one of her favorite songs. Remarkable.
The case is currently on appeal, with the next hearing scheduled in September. Today, the hospital’s motion for an expedited hearing was denied.
Please pray for Mirranda Grace.
